Le secteur de la microfinance au Sénégal compte 4 306 771 clients en 2023 contre 3 923 775 en 2022, soit une progression annuelle de 10,2% sur la période sous revue.

La clientèle est composée d’hommes (2 096 504 ; 48,68%), de femmes (1 791 305 ; 41,59%) et de personnes morales (418 962 ; 9,73%).

Le taux de pénétration de la microfinance par rapport à la population totale s’est établi à 24,3% en 2023. Tenant compte des doublons et des comptes inactifs, le taux d’accès des adultes aux services de la microfinance (taux corrigé d’accès) est de 19,7%.
